Course rules

  1. Please attend all sessions. The course has been designed in such a way that each session builds upon the next, and you will make the most progress in your comedy journey if you can build your knowledge week by week. If you cannot a attend a particular session for whatever reason, please let us know in advance.
  2. Please be on time. The sessions will start on time, and we will give a 10 minute grace period for people who have delays such as connectivity problems. After this, so as to not cause a disturbance to the other participants, we will lock the Zoom room. We appreciate your understanding of this point.
  3. Please be respectful. Writing stand-up comedy is a very personal thing, which may expose certain vulnerabilities in people as they mine their life for material. Please ensure that we are kind and respectful to other participants, especially of their privacy and right to explore their ideas without limitations.
  4. Please don't share the course. You will have access to course materials, and copies of the recordings of our workshops. To respect the privacy of the participants, and the copyright of the authors of the course, please under no circumstances copy or distribute these to anybody outside of our cohort.
  5. Please have fun! You've signed up for this course because you want to try something new and improve yourself. Use this opportunity to come out of your shell, and try something new.

<aside> ⚠️ General disclaimer: stand-up comedy deals with all manner of subjects without fear or favor. It should be expected that you may hear material which offends you during the course of the workshops. While we hope that no participant will aim to willfully offend, please understand that this may happen, and we will always support the right of an individual to express their thoughts.
